NADJA, The Stone Is Not Hit By The Sun, Nor Carved With A Knife

I Nadja pubblicano il loro nuovo disco su Gizeh Records, che già ospita sul suo catalogo Aidan Baker solista. The Stone Is Not Hit By The Sun, Nor Carved With A Knife inizia come un album 100% Nadja (come già quest’anno lo era Sv, in un certo senso), uno di quelli che ha fatto sì che pubblico e riviste si accorgessero di loro e di una formula che univa pesantezze inenarrabili a levità di matrice shoegaze: “The Stone”, bruciante e immensa, potrebbe starsene tranquilamente su Radiance Of Shadows del 2007, altro disco tripartito. “The Sun”, molto malinconica, in un primo momento procede secondo un crescendo: la struttura è minimalista, nel senso di elementi definiti che si ripetono e si sovrappongono, le conseguenze à la Nadja, nel senso di deflagrazione più coda di radiazioni… ma il pezzo poi dura ancora parecchio, adottando la solita cadenza pachidermica della band. Si chiude con “The Knife”, esclusivamente atmosferica.

The Stone Is Not Hit By The Sun, Nor Carved With A Knife non ci racconta nulla di nuovo sui Nadja, ma funziona.
