The Utopia Strong

Stiamo parlando di un nuovo trio, formato però da veterani (ciascuno veterano nel suo campo…), con un album in uscita il 13 settembre per Rocket Recordings: The Utopia Strong, cioè Kavus Torabi (uno che ha suonato o suona con Gong, Cardiacs e Guapo), Michael J. York (uno che ha suonato o suona con Coil, Teleplasmiste e Guapo) e… Steve Davis, il campione di Snooker da sempre appassionato di musica “disallineata”. Torabi e Davis già giravano insieme facendo dei dj set e pare che la collaborazione con lo zampognaro (e non solo) York sia nata a Glastonbury 2017.

L’etichetta definisce il disco un colosso kosmische a trazione modulare. Se di colosso si tratta, lo capiremo quando sentiremo tutto l’album. Apparentemente siamo in zona Cluster, Eno, Riley e compagnia… Per ora abbiamo due pezzi da ascoltare e da vedere.
