LILIES ON MARS, Wish You Were A Pony

Wish You Were A Pony

Marte è sempre più vicino.

Dei tempi come backing band di Battiato, quand’erano portatrici del “dark-metal”, “nuovo genere” pronto a conquistare anche la Terra, le Lilies hanno mantenuto la loro base su Marte, ma si sono pure fatte quattro passi tra gli umani. Wish You Were A Pony, rispetto al precedente eponimo, è uno sguardo più acuto sul loro stato dell’arte, a metà strada tra indie rock à la Breeders (“A Lost Cause”) e fascinazioni 90’s, ammiccando alle sonorità (shoegaze in primis) che vagano nell’aria in questi anni. Entrata in scena in punta di note “Retrò”, “Craba” e “Aquarium’s Key” sono dotate di una fascinosa morbidezza melodica e chitarristica, “I’m Confused It’s Ok” ondeggia liquida e acustica accarezzando l’anima. “La Mattina Prima Di Andare A Letto” e “Su” sono circondate da una piacevole nebbiolina dark/noise, “Hiding Under Water” è ispirata torch song chitarristica, inquieta danza post-rock “Panic Awakening”, “Angry Lullaby” mantiene ciò che il titolo promette. Un altro passo e la maturazione delle Lilies On Mars potrebbe essere più profonda e foriera di importanti colpi di scena.
