DARK HORSES, Hail Lucid State

I Dark Horses (Brighton) sono quasi un gruppo grosso, che adesso se ne va in giro coi Dandy Warhols e ha suonato con Beck, Kasabian e Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. Hanno un manager, un booking, abiti firmatissimi e la femme fatale alla voce, quindi non stiamo parlando della nostra solita band do it yourself, ma di una piccola aziendina che comincia a dar lavoro a delle persone. In effetti al gruppo non manca nulla per avere “successo” nel modo “tradizionale” che i più vecchi conoscono: belli loro, belle le canzoni a presa immediata (il motorik del singolone “Live On Hunger”), mai troppi sforzi da chiedere a chi ascolta, però nemmeno troppa roba banale. Che poi sul banale bisogna mettersi d’accordo, dato che la band ha due tipi di pezzo, quello trascinante mezzo kraut-mezzo new wave, con i synth giusti (quasi Tubeway Army) e le chitarre acidine (“Saturn Returns”, per capirci), e quello languido e lento che lascia emergere il carisma della cantante. Pronti per il Primavera Sound.
